Jeff Phillips was called to Sage Avenue Baptist as
Associate Pastor for Music and Students on July 8, 2001. It was through
the faithful preaching of a faithful man of God that he first heard the
glorious gospel of Jesus. Under conviction of the Holy Spirit he responded
in repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus and was born again on August 3,
1988, at the age of 14.
He answered God’s call to the Gospel Ministry in
December of 1994, and was ordained October 28, 2001.
Bro. Jeff has served as Youth Minister at New Hope
Community Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and as Music and Youth
Minister of First Baptist Church of Abbeville, Louisiana. He also has
served in various teaching positions and as a Deacon at Second Baptist
Church of Semmes, Alabama. Bro. Jeff has also had the privilege of
preaching and teaching the gospel in China, Romania, and Uganda, Africa.
Bro. Jeff and his wife, Charity, are both from the
Mobile area. Charity is a graduate of Byrum High School in Jackson,
Mississippi, while Bro. Jeff is a graduate of Mary G. Montgomery High
School in Semmes, Alabama. They have two children, Hannah (17 months), and
Nathan (3 months).
